Description

I have an approximately four year old Macleay River Short-necked Turtle (Emydura Macquarii Dharra) that I must unfortunately rehome. He recognises people as bearers of food so will swim up and down the tank trying to get to you (is very cute). He’s not a particular fan of being held but he is easy to grab in the water and easy to hold as Dharras are very small.

Turtles are pretty low maintenance: feed whitebait or similar every ~few days (Australian turtles are typically more carnivorous than overseas turtles and so pellet food is usually not formulated well for them, more of a treat food), and keep the water in the tank or pond clean (pro tip: the larger the body of water the easier to keep clean) (pro tip: turtles are messy eaters, if you want a lower maintenance tank, you can feed him in a smaller bucket of water then put him back when he is finished the throw the messy food water).

He comes with a large bag of frozen whitebait which is his primary diet.

We are located in Camperdown/Newtown area.

To reserve the turtle you will need to provide your license number before you pickup the turtle so there are no surprises and to confirm you can legally keep a native reptile.
