Rusty monitor

Description

Enclosure Size: A minimum of 120x60x60 or 120x45x60 is best for the rusty monitor to allow proper thermal gradients.
Rusty Red Background:
Carve extruded polystyrene (XPS) foam boards into ledges and rock crevices.
Use a deep layer (12 to 24+ inches) of a 60/40 or 2:1 organic topsoil and play sand mixture (or specialized arid soils like Terra Sahara) so the monitor can dig and form stable burrows with red-earth desert look over the topsoil.
Basking spots 49–57°C
UVB: A high-output T5 12% to 14% desert UVB tube running along the hot/basking side.
Cool-side 24–29°C
