The spiny knob-tailed gecko (Nephrurus asper), also known as the rough knob-tailed gecko, is a nocturnal reptile endemic to Queensland, Australia. Known for its spiny, camouflaged skin and small tail with a prominent “knob” tip, it thrives in rocky, arid, or woodland environments. These paddles, non-climbing geckos are snout-to-vent length of up to 115 mm. Including their small, knobbed tail, they are robust, medium-sized geckos, with females being larger than males. They cannot drop their tails.
